Durga Puja 2019 Schedule

 
This is the 34th year of the Mulund Durga Puja organized by the Bengal Institute of Art & Culture, a registered Public Trust engaged in preserving and nurturing traditional arts. During the six days of Durga Puja, the puja venue is the nerve-centre of activity, devotion and celebrations. Almost 5000 people from across the city visit the puja venue every year to offer their prayers and seek Ma Durga's blessings. Devotees also partake of lunch prasad (bhog) on Saptami, Ashtami and Navami.

The venue is the same as every year: Mahakavi Kalidas Natya Mandir Complex, Mulund West, Mumbai. Those of you who haven't ever been to this Puja and want to know where exactly the venue is, just search for "Mulund Durga Puja" on Google Maps or use this link. Enter the complex and ask for the 'Wedding Hall'.

For people who are close to the culture of Bengal, it just takes two words for the heart to start leaping with joy. Pujo aschhe. Which means Durga Puja is around the corner.

So, with joy in our hearts, we have begun preparations for the 33rd Mulund Durga Puja to be held at Kalidas Natya Mandir Complex from 14th to 19th October, 2018.

The Invitation Card and the Souvenir Ad Booking Form have been printed. The "Souvenir" is an inseparable part of our autumn celebrations. It is a book that is unveiled during the Durga Puja. It contains details about our programmes, interesting articles and messages from well-wishers. The Souvenir is not sold but distributed among our patrons, visitors and sponsors. Putting your message in the Souvenir is a great way of reaching out to hundreds of people in Mulund & neighbouring suburbs.

Like every year, we are organising Sarbojanin Saraswati Puja on Vasant Panchami..

Puja starts at 10 am and will be followed by pushpanjali and bhog. There will be an arati in the evening too.

While we wish each other Shubho Bijoya, our hearts go out to people who have been affected by Cyclone Phailin and the Datia stampede incident. May Ma Durga give them the strength to fight the odds and rebuild their lives. We also pray that the souls of the departed rest in peace.

Saraswati Puja on 15 Feb, 2013

Like every year, Bengal Institute of Art & Culture will organise Sarbojanin Saraswati Puja on Vasant Panchami..

Puja starts at 9 am on Friday, 15 Feb, and will be followed by pushpanjali and bhog. There will be an arati in the evening too.

Saraswati is the Goddess of Learning and we are happy to inform you that we'd have an opportunity of some new-age learning at the Puja venue. Gautam Roy, who works for Facebook in the US, will be with us. If you have any technical queries about Facebook usage, he will be available at the venue to take your questions.

BIAC gets ready for Durga Puja 2012

The first Puja meeting of the season signals the official beginning of preparations for the autumn celebrations (although the groundwork begins much earlier). We had our first Puja 2012 meeting last month and members enthusiastically participated in the discussion.

Thereafter, Invites have been sent out to most members and well-wishers. We cordially invite everybody to be part of the Mulund Durga Puja at Kalidas Natya Mandir Complex from 20th to 24th October, 2012. If you are new to Mulund, you will find more details about the venue here.
